mayflower express direct auto transport - Review

Unfortunately I did not see these reviews nor did my sister-in-law prior to booking with Mike of Mayflower. My brother was returning from deployment, I had just found him a 74 Bronco on Ebay in Washington and needed to get it shipped. My sister-in-law received a quote from Mike for a total price of $700. I also received a copy of it prior to booking, I also asked for a receipt showing my downpayment of $200 and showing the COD of $500 balance to be paid to the trucker. The shipment was time sensitive as my brother was flying oversees to Texas and we were to drive the Bronco to his house in GA together so we needed it in a certain time frame and had a week of a buffer. Mike told us he already had a truck lined up and ready to pick it up. I made the deposit via credit card and did not hear from him for over a week, he blamed the hurricane that happened after the fact. It was late but it was their complete dishonest approach that was unacceptable. The Bronco was finally picked up and I eventually had contact from the driver. A day before the truck was to arrive the driver contacted me and reminded me that he was to collect $900, he stated that Mike posted the job for $900 not $550 and that I would not get my truck unless I paid $900. I tried many times to reach Mike and left messages, I only reached him when I blocked my number. I explained the situatino and he said that I should read the fine print because he is not responsible for what the driver's charge. I explained that he did not even post the job for $500 that he posted it at $900. He was just very matter of fact, didn't care, he also stated that he was also keeping my $200 credit card deposit. bottom line is that Mike is a disgrace to this country, I paid the driver $900 as it honestly appeared that the driver really had no idea what had happened. He also said he would be more than willing to support our position if necessary, well it is only a few hundered dollars so I disputed the deposit with my Credit Card company which they refunded me. I am not sure how companies like these are allowed to stay in business. Review Options  (more)

I had a conversation with MIKE who is the broker and I explained to him my situation of transporting a vehicle from the east coast. Our agreement was for $800 which included his $175 broker fee, it took almost two weeks the deliver the vehicle and the company PK Line is now asking for $950 to deliver the vehicle. The vehicle had personal belongings in it and everyone was aware of the deal. The funny thing is that its cheaper to ship a SUV than a small compact vehicle like the smart car. Companies are out there to screw people out of their money and by including some fine prints on there website, they think they can get away with it. For about 4 days I tried to get a hold of MIKE at Mayflower through phone calls and email but I got no answers from him, but when the shipping company called he picked up the phone. that tells you that he knows he is at fault and by avoiding calls and emails he is admitting to it. You also wouldn't get the actual contract that you have agreed on because he would email you the contract only showing his broker fee. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! I am a transporter, mayflower Express brokered the car to me to deliver, buyer of the car paid to Mayflower, he was supposed to pay us. We never got paid. Stay away. Similar to all the other reviews fro this company on yelp and many other review sites, my experience with these folks was not good. Mike quoted me $675 to transport my purchase from Wisconsin to Florida. He wasn't the cheapest but also not the most expensive. Mike required a $175 deposit (sound familiar), which I paid immediately upon accepting the quote. That left $500 COD to the driver upon delivery. Turns out Mike had jacked the order by $200 so when the driver shows with the car, I owe $700. When I contacted him he apologized but said there is nothing he can do. It was beyond his control. But he did offer to send me some 'Gas Vouchers' to ease my pain. I agreed, but the vouchers never came. I've been emailing him once a month since last September. Each time he replies that he is still waiting on the vouchers. Just today, he emailed a reply to stating "Tuesday next week and then we mail them .." They lied on the quote to get my business and the lies continue right up until today, 6 months later. Stay away. Far away  (more)

They only use the best enclosed and open auto carriers available I have transported 15 cars with mayflower transport already and I am looking forward to doing a ton of more business with you guys! Folks don't hesitate to us them, they provide a great transport service!  (more)

Mayflower Express Direct uses a Bait and Switch technique by quoting in writing a low rate on auto shipping, taking a large deposit via an online agreement that has no final price on it, and then contracting a truck service that combined with the deposit is more than the total that they quote. The truck driver then extorts you for their contracted fee or they will not deliver your car. They did not return any calls the day the car was delivered when I was trying to get the matter solved. I have yet to make the transaction whole with me. The total shipping quoted was $450 and the final payout was $575. I am asking for a credit of $125 applied back to my credit card. This is not the way to do business and I would advise anyone who is thinking of shipping with Mayflower Express Direct to consider who they are doing business with. DO NOT SIGN THE E-DOCUMENT THEY SEND YOU. IT HAS NO FINAL PRICE ON IT. THESE GUYS ARE SHADY. Follow up: These guys only credited back my card back for $50 in spite of filing a claim with my credit card company. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.  (more)

This review is for Mike at may flower express. I had spoke with Mike for 3 weeks before shipping my car from cali to buffalo ny. Mike was great! He explained the whole process of my ship to me and made me understand how it will work. Mike is upfront, knowledgable, and honest. Most important my car was on time safe and sound in buffalo! This is a scam operation. Was told that we were submitting a deposit to Mayflower toward the overall payment, but in fact the payment was a fee which was not credited toward the transport payment. Could have saved $200 by going with a direct transport provider.  (more)

Mike Mazzo and Mayflower Express Auto Transport are excellent. The bike arrived in 1 day, in perfect condition. The driver was super, and obviously had taken good care of the bike during transit. Very professional, courteous, and FAST! I have not shipped a car or bike before, and Mike helped me through the process, answering all of my questions. Mike is a very confident guy. The problem is, he's not telling you the full story. What he failed to tell me is that the balance to be paid to the driver is ESTIMATED. I was told the price to pay my driver was $650. Here is the email from Mike: "yes if you book today we can do it for 825 with a 175. deposit and balance of 650 COD to the driver. thanks mike 561 288 3511". I don't see estimated in there anywhere. The drivers price turned out to be $800. That is a 23% increase!! I RECOMMEND GETTING A BROKER THAT DOESN'T CHARGE DEPOSITS UP FRONT!!  (more)

After filling out an online quote request I was flooded with phone calls and emails for my transport business. Mayflower Express Direct was the ONLY company to leave a voice mail and really explain the process, what to look out for, and where to review their company from. Any company that is willing to direct you to consumer reviews is both honest and confident in their service. Everything went just as I was told and they located a great owner/operator to transport my car. It arrived safely, clean, and early. Communication was fantastic and they walked me through the entire process patiently. I cannot imagine a better experience than what I received.  (more)

We were very happy with Mayflower Express Transport. The quote was $100 cheaper than any other company we received quotes from. The salesperson I worked with was Mazzo and he was very courteous and had my paperwork emailed to me in minutes. Everything happened just as we were told it would. We completed the paperwork on 7/27 and were originally told the vehicle would be picked up 8/1 but it was picked up on 7/28. It was delivered by Massey Auto Transport on 8/1. The driver was friendly and very professional. Would definitely recommend this company and use them again in the future!  (more)

I had booked with another company that had promised me to have the vehicle picked up before July 20.2011, once my date got a little closer i called the company and they never picked up my phone call and when I called from a different number they would hang up. Thomas from Mayflower Express Direct had contacted several of times by email so I decided to give him a call back. He was very helpful and after going trough the previous bad experience he made shore to make me feel comfortable by updating me with everything that was going on. My vehicle was picked up on July 24.2011 and arrived today, No scratches no damages, a little dirty but I guess that’s just normal especially after traveling almost 3000 miles. I was very wary of car shipping companies, having had a horrible experience in the past. I was impressed with the quality of service that I received from Mike at Mayflower Express Direct Transport, in particular with my order and shipment of my car. The car was picked up on time, and delivered on time to my destination. Through the whole process, I was in contact with only one person from Mayflower Transport (Mike) as well as the driver of the truck. They were prompt and kept me posted about where my car was, before and after it was picked up. Thank you for the excellent service. I will definitely use them again in the future.  (more)

I checked the list of companies used by Ebay and added a couple of my own. Several of the companies had too many "hoops" to jump through to get their quote..most had additional costs for insurance and various levels of handling. Those companies made me cautious right away! By the time I got to Mayflower Express Direct, I was feeling that this transport was going to cost much more than I had envisioned and the whole process was much more complicated than I had hoped. The Mayflower Express Direct Quote was quick and complete. It included answers to all of my questions from a reasonable(lowest) cost to details on the pick-up and delivery process. Mike made it very easy(at one point I thought "there must be something wrong with this service..it's too easy") and followed through with a quick pick up..the driver called the seller and made arrangements for pick up and was there right on time. The next day I got a call from the driver saying he would be at my door step the next day about 1:00 PM and he was right on time. I quoted at least 6 companies before quoting Mayflower Express Transport. All the other companies gave me an estimate of more than $1,000 but Mayflower express was the only one that gave me a lower price. I am going to accept that I was a little scared at the beginning but I will also accept that it was the best decision I could have taken. I needed my car to be picked up at a specific date during specific hours and they were the only ones that agreed on this. I spoke with Thomas all the time as she was making sure that I was not worried. The drives were extremely nice. The car arrived dirty in the outside (nothing that the gas station car washed didn't fixed) but 0 scratches and dents. I would definitely use them again in my next move.  (more)

I highly recommend this company! We were having troubles with another company following through and sticking to the contract, then we found Mayflower Express Direct Auto Transport. Being new to the transport gig Thomas was able to help walk me through what needed to happen, and was friendly, honest, and a straight shooter(which to me goes along way).Communication was welcomed, and all my questions were gladly answered. We paid $575.00 for a non-op 17ft long classic car from Tucson, AZ to San Diego, CA. The car arrived on time, in great condition, the driver was also very friendly, and helpful. I was very skeptical about how the auto moving industry work - the fact that I read about so many horror stories made it even worse. However, my experience with Mayflower Express Direct Auto Transport and Mike Mazzo was 100% POSITIVE. Here's how it went down: I requested quotes from many brokers/carriers and they all seemed to be in the same "range". After talking to Mike, I realized why. The actual moving expense is a "market driven rate"" dictated by the actual carriers, not the brokers or the industry. Mike explained this very clearly - right out of the gate. After I understood that, we listed to move at the RIGHT rate on Monday night and I got a call from Mike first thing Tuesday morning. The carrier agreed to pick up the car Wednesday at 11:00, which they did. The promised it to me by the next morning - and sure enough - at 9:30am the car was in my driveway. I never expected the process to go as smoothly as it did, but now that it has, I wanted to make sure I told others about the process with Mayflower Express Direct Auto Transport and specifically with Mike. When I made a decision to transport my son's Toyota, I had Mayflower Express Direct at the top of my list, due to its excellent reviews on this site. I placed my trust in Thomas, the owner of the company, and he did not disappoint me. Everything he said about what I should expect was true, and the carrier he selected was superb. Everything went very smoothly with Mayflower Express Direct Auto, including quote, followup emails and calls, placing order, pickup and delivery. Pickup and delivery were within the scheduled dates. The actual carrier was Kelly's auto mover, but Mayflower Express did a great job helping locate a good carrier. Since the car was transported in an open carrier for a fairly cheap $880 from VA to CA, I don't mind a little dirt on the outside of the car- a basic car wash revived it. Overall, great experience with Mayflower Express, would recommend to friends.  (more)

My experience with transporting my vehicle through Mayflower Express Auto Transport company was great. This was my first time using a transport service so I felt nervous about the whole process. My search began with a list of approximately 30 to 40 transport companies. I proceeded to call each company individually. After making nearly 20 calls, I came across Mayflower Express Auto Transport. Your company was located in Boca, which was pleasing to me. I called the number and was greeted by Mike. He was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. After a few minutes into our conversation, I was convinced this was the company I wanted to use. He explained the process, gave a dateline on pickup and delivery of my vehicle, the cost and locating a driver (which could take up to 7 days). I was astonished when she called me on the next day and had already located a driver. I was told my vehicle would arrive in Florida on June 9th and it did. These guys seemed great from the start, and it ended up being a nightmare. They tried to charge me twice as much, were late, told me that it was my fault that they dispatched a driver to the wrong city (even though I signed a contract with the right city), and when I expressed my concern with the issues they told me that my low quote and verbal good to gos (ie my car being down a country road, and it not running were not issue) were a "sales technique" and they from the start that they could not get my car shipped for anything neat the price they quoted and charged me.  (more)

I found this company to include the transporter absolutely excellent. They were prompt in returning calls if messages were left, and kept us well-informed on the stages of the shipment. I found their cost for services to be below the average and yet they were able to provide pick up to meet my needs without a wait time. The Transporter they used was quite personable, professional and easy to relate to. Although I was not present when the vehicle was delivered, I can say that the feedback provided was nothing but accolades for Mr. Slovick. Would I use Mayflower Express Direct Auto Transport again if the need arose? Most definitely! Would I recommend this company to friends and family? Without a doubt I would! I paid extra to use the Expedited option to ship my Honda Fit from Portland to Dallas. Mayflower Express Direct Auto Transport, was the only company to offer door-to-door service with guaranteed pickup and delivery dates. The customer service was great. Phone calls were always answered promptly (within a few hours), people were friendly (not true of other companies I called-and I called many), and my questions were answered thoroughly. I ended up having a terrible time with the carrier, who barely spoke English, didn't bother to call for pickup (I had to call him), and was late for delivery (by a few days). When I called to ask for the status (I had paid for a guaranteed delivery date), he refused to say where he (and my car) were, wouldn't answer any questions, and hung up on me. On the day of delivery, he then refused to release the car for the lesser amount (if not delivered on the guaranteed date, the cash on delivery to the driver was supposed to be less). I called Mayflower Express Direct Auto Transport and Spoke to Mike Mazzo on Saturday and actually spoke to someone working, which was pleasantly surprising. He called the truck driver immediately. Although he couldn't resolve the issue, he was very polite, apologetic, and said he'd bring it to the owner's attention first thing Monday morning. By Monday afternoon we had the car and had paid the driver the lesser amount. No damages to the car. The people working also assured me that they wouldn't be using that driver again. Wow these guys know how to set things in motion, i contacted Mayflower Express and Talked with Mike who happens to know this industry Extremely Well. I needed to relocate back to HI from NYC, they made all the arrangements with a Car Carrier to have my Vehicle brought across the country to the port in CA. They Then Loaded me on a ship and transferred me to HI By Sea witch in total door to door was around 15 days and that's awesome. I cant say enough good things about them everything went very smooth and was right on time. One of my brothers who lives in Chicago gave me his car however since I live in CA I had to figure out how to get the car to me. I have to admit it was a bit scary since I had never done this before but Mike made the process go very smooth and he was very assuring. I also liked the fact that I only had to pay a deposit and the rest due once the car was delivered which also made me feel a lot more comfortable. The car arrived ahead of schedule and the driver was very nice and accommodating. We had a small pop-top camper transported from Green Bay, WI to Long Island, NY... Mayflower Express Direct Auto Transport worked with both the seller's schedule and ours. We had been searching for over a month for a specific Mercedes Benz to purchase either new or slightly used. We found the exact one we had been looking for on the internet being offered by a MB dealer in Pennsylvania. We worked with our local Minneapolis MB dealer on trying to have them get the car and do the deal locally with no luck. We decided to take the next step, which was to purchase the car over the phone/email with the Pennsylvania dealer directly. This meant that we would have to have the car shipped to us after the purchase was complete. Having never done this before, it was a little un-nerving to say the least. But with the ease and OUTSTANDING service from Mayflower Express Direct Auto Transport, we really had nothing to worry about. In fact, the purchase and delivery of the vehicle could not have gone any smoother, even if we had bought the car in person. The car was picked up right on schedule and delivered within a day or so in perfect condition. Shipping Infinity G35 Coupe from Tampa to San Francisco Review:The quote from Mayflower Express Direct Auto Transport was substantially below others that I received. I was initially concerned about choosing Transport. However, after reading the volume of reviews posted, I decided to give it a try. The pick up was a bit of a problem, nothing to do with the driver. Finding a place to load the car was the problem since it was not possible to do that at my residence. We tried to load the car in an empty parking lot of a bowling alley but the manager threatened to call the police for trespassing. The driver ended up loading my car on the truck on the road side. There was no problem at the delivery end according to my son in San Francisco. Overall I am very pleased with the service and it is a Great Deal to be able to ship a car from FL to CA for only $650 Thanks Mike  (more)

I searched the internet thoroughly, there price was very competitive. Truck was assigned same day I placed the order, car was picked up in Wisconsin one day after first day available. Driver was very knowledgeable and careful. Estimated delivery time was 7 days and car arrived in 5. Driver stayed in contact with me all the time he was in California and kept me informed on were he was and estimated delivery time. I live in the mountains and it was snowing on delivery day, but driver was still willing to bring the truck up the mountain to deliver to my house. We decided on a meeting place down the mountain, I was worried it was too dangerous to handle that big truck on icy mountain roads, but was very impressed the driver was willing to try it. Great service, I would definitely use them again. Did it all online and everything happen exactly how they said it would? Very impressed.  (more)

After using American Pride Autoride 8/14/010 first for a quote of 800.00 they took my deposit of 150.00 before they even put my vechicle on a truck!! I was mad because it was already three weeks and still no delivery date. I was entitled to get my deposit back but that meant I needed to find a new transport company. The whole thought of spending more money made me sick to my stomach! I called around and we contacted Mayflower Express Direct Auto Transport though email and Mike called me back and gave me the honest truth and made me feel so much better and helped me chose this company that I should of called first. He told me that they work for their money. The 73 Impala we bought off of E-Bay was transported from MI on 9/4/10 to TX on 9/9/10 and Mike was correct when he said they would deliver and when the driver came we actually met him because he had never been to South TX and took 25.00 off the C.O.D. The car was just how we expected to see it. I had a very good experience and I thank you again Mike for being such an honest and hard working guy.
