I used Ship a Car Direct to ship my car from CA to MT. They were able to get me a quote in 1 day. The pick up and drop off were correct within 1 day. The trucking company that picked up my car was in contact with me during the transport. When my car reached the drop off it was in good condition. Little dirty from the trip but no damage. Since I was moving I filled my car with boxes and everything was fine at drop off. They charge a portion to your card at pickup and you pay the remainder at drop off. Reasonable price when compared with the other quotes I received. I would recommend them and I will use them again if I need to ship my car.  (more)

I am pleased with the quality of attention given to the overall process of shipping a car from FL to CA. David was available and kept me informed and answered my concerns in a timely manner. Only a slight confusion over the car having to be transferred to smaller transport in order to reach remote location. Agent kept in touch and was courteous. My only issue is the transport scheduling piece. I have shipped my car quite a few times and have always found out within a day or 2 when a transport would be available. This time I found out about a week later and it was the day of pickup. Maybe that is normal for ship a car direct but has never been my experience.  (more)

My advice - save yourself a whole lot of trouble and just don't have your vehicle shipped. I was warned, but figured nah...won't happen to me. The industry is terrible, all kinds of excuses, schedules mean nothing, oh - and forget the quote...you'll spend more I promise. Just do yourself a favor and figure out how to drive it wherever you need it to be.  (more)

While I had my reservations about shipping my car, the entire experience was surprisingly very easy with Safe-Direct! I worked with the broker, Tom, who was very responsive to my inquiries both by his direct line and via email. He kept me updated the entire time. He was informative in explaining the Standard vs. Economy rates, provided the carrier's licensing and insurance documents promptly, and was simply very accessible during the entire process. Since my dates were flexible, I went with the economy rate, and it took roughly 4 days from the first available date to pickup. The carrier, GEGA Transportation, was equally professional. Both the dispatcher and the driver were friendly and honest. They delivered the car in great shape and were accurate about their pick up and delivery times (only 3.5 days from LA to WV). All around, I appreciate the great service at a very reasonable price - would definitely recommend them.  (more)

This was my first experience with transporting my auto. I did a lot of research on the subject. Most of the brokers who I spoke with gave a good sales pitch. When I called "Safe-Direct Car Shipping", Mr. Tom Miller explained to me that it was all business and about $. I was informed that my request would be put up on the board for the carriers to see and that it would be a matter of economics and need for any party to accept my $ offer for the transport of my car. I accepted the quote of $945.00 with Mr. Miller and within a couple of days of when my car was available, Mr. Miller called me and said that my car was assigned a carrier. After doing some research on the proposed carrier, I called Mr. Miller and requested a new carrier because I wasn't happy with their reviews on the internet. Within a couple of hours, Mr. Miller got me a new carrier. The new carriers were "NS Express" out of Ohio. They were on time with the pick-up, very professional, and friendly. When I arrived in Ohio, I called the carrier, and within 30 minutes, they delivered my car. The delivery person told me that they washed the car because of the long dusty trip! I was very happy with the outcome. Bottom line is that you have to check out all the transport companies before you do business with any one of them. From the start, David was very honest and clear about the services offered and stayed in contact throughout the process. My car was picked up on time and I was told it would arrive in California the following monday. It made it there on Monday, my parents received the call early in the morning and the delivery was made within an hour. I went on the web to see who would be best to transport my 68 Chevelle to Kansas and who could do it under the tight time line I had to do it in. I spoke with Safe Direct as my first option of moving my vehicle. They filled me in with details, 1. Do not give anyone $ on 1st call to them 2.the cheapest deal isnt always the best! 3.talk to a number of movers before making your decision who you hire. All these things were uptometodecide after talking to easily 10 companies. I went with Safe Direct because they followed up with information on where and what my car was doing, because they knew and were in good contact with their carrier! They provided me with the carriers phone # and I called him ( he even answered!) at least twice with whereabouts and timing on delivery. It all went as planned and I appreciated being walked through the process all the way.  (more)

I recently had my 2002 Lexus RX 300 transported from CA to FL. Tom Miller was very helpful with providing a lot of information that was very accurate. There was only one issue that occurred. We had scheduled a carrier to pick up my car, when the day to pick up came both Tom and I couldn't get a hold of the carrier at first. The carrier contact called me but couldn't speak English, nor did the have anyone that could speak English. The carrier's customer service was less than stellar. Tom managed the situation very well. He ended up canceling the carrier and found another one within 30 minutes. The 2nd attempt to pick up was for another day. The carrier rep contacted me prior to picking up and went over the process. When they picked up, the driver inspected the car for scrapes and bumps. They also saw that I had some belongings in the car that might put them over the weight limit for their truck. Due to this I had to pay $75 extra for them to take my car. Overall it was a good experience and I would do this again.  (more)

This was a last minute decision to transport a vehicle from NY to Gilbert Arizona. She is a grad student at ASU. We had done the drive west last summer, and the return east in May. I originally wanted to drive the car again this summer, but time constraints and frankly my lack of desire to drive west ... again .. in 100+ degree weather did not appeal. I was hooked up with Global Transport ... was given the driver's cell phone number ... and arranged to meet him in New Jersey to save him the time and tolls of going through NYC. We met at a prearranged location . The drive was courteous ... polite .... professional. The car was loaded at 630PM on a Tuesday ..... arrived in Arizona on the following Saturday evening. The drive - Vic - was apologetic because his intention was to drop the car to me by noon. He had to have his clutch repaired which caused his delay. Again .. he was polite ... professional .... happy that he made us a satisfied customer. Pricing ... was competitive. Service ... pickup was arranged quickly ... the pickup itself was arranged smoothly . I was told to contact the driver if I needed to know where he was ... but never bothered him. Delivery ... was coordinated between the driver and me at a nearby location out of the way of traffic. And the car was not damaged .... started up right away. Driver was paid ..... and I was spared another cross country trip. Will consider shipping again in May when the school term ends.  (more)
