Jay's Auto Transport inc - Review

I highly recommend Jays auto transport. We just transported my new Toyota RAV4 from SF to Oberlin, Ohio. Jay gave us a price that was much lower than I expected and he made the entire process easy and smooth. We have never done this before and it turned out really well. The driver was right on time, fast and efficient both at pick up and drop off. Jay is 100 percent transparent about the process and responsive to your questions . I felt relieved knowing that I could reach out to him anytime and get a real person in the phone . Highly recommend his services.  (more)

Jay was the only Broker I found who was honest with me, and said he could not promise shipping dates nor a final shipping price. I respected this after dealing with other brokers who were just looking out for themselves. He explained the whole shipping process including things to watch out for with other brokers. (Which I first hand witnessed.) His commission rate was reasonable and he fought to get the best pricing for my shipment. I had a car to be picked up from out in the middle of nowhere. He got the job done in a few days. Let him argue with the carriers over the right price, thats his job and he is good at it. He is an old school broker who actually represents you which is a rare find in this industry today. I highly recommend him if you need to move a car.  (more)

Jay is awesome. After going through 3-4 transporters, Jay was so knowledgeable and honest with me. He explained everything to me about how the transportation market works You have to remember that he is a broker, not the trucking company. I like working with Jay. He is the owner. you can tell instantly when you begin talking to him he has many years of experience in the auto transport industry. There was no pressure to buy. Bad communication skills. Forgets payment agreements we made a few days before delivery, but can remember email I wrote weeks ago. This guy gave me an offer of $475 to move my car and I SIGNED A CONTRACT FOR $475. I paid my $100 deposit, and he told me that I would owe the driver the remaining balance of $375. I gave him time to find a driver from 06/5 to 06/20, however, it was approaching the end of the pick up window so I offered to increase my price $100. When I sent him this email of a potential price increase he said that he would start off increasing it by $25 first and so on, because he CLAIMED HE WANTED TO SAVE ME MONEY. I agreed with that plan then I went on about my business. He finally called me and said that he found a driver and that he would be able to pick up my car on that day so he went on and on about the process and so I finally asked him, well how much did he accept. He said that the driver went for the original contract price of $475; which in my mind meant that the driver would only be getting $375 from me since I already paid Jay $100. So I go out of my way to get a money order for $375 and the driver says it is $475 you owe me. I told him the other $100 went to Jay and he says he didn't know anything about that. Jay gets a $100 cut from each job he books...how else would me make any money. So when I called home he wanted to play dumb like he did not remember our conversation two days ago about the payment price. Anyway, I had to come out of pocket an extra $100 to pay the driver. The driver's services were great and Jay should no receive credit for that so that is why I did not rate well on promptness etc it is the Calvert Transportation that deserves a five star rating from me. Even the guy said not to deal with broker I.e. The middle man. DEAL DIRECTLY WITH THE DRIVERa and DELETE THE MIDDLE MAN ; your deals will go well. My car made it here on time an in one piece thanks to CALVERT TRANSPORTATION LCC.  (more)

This guy did what he said he was going to do and he did it fast. The price was great. It doesn't get any better. I highly recommend Jay's Auto Transport. You only deal with Jay. He's not a kid. When a thousand cars are trying to head north.... it's best to use a broker that is good, professional, and an expert in the industry. Jay was great. I would definitely use him again. Car was picked up on time - delivered as promised and the price was very fair. What more could I ask for? The truck driver actually had the car washed down for me when it arrived. I asked how did it get so clean and he said he went through a truck wash with all the cars on it once he made it to South Florida. Awesome!  (more)

Last minute notice.... a Ford F-150.... picked up and moved faster than I could have ever imagined. Very reasonable rate. Great communication the whole way through. Excellent truck, excellent truck driver... Full Insurance documentation provided. I would definitely recommend Jay to anyone. No employees - work with the owner of a company and not some kid in a cubicle that will tell you everything you want to hear and then the ball gets dropped. This is not my first rodeo. At first I was afraid this company would be like many others where the primary contact person would never pick up the phone because they wanted to avoid the confrontation or something but Jay definitely proved me wrong. He provided me with all the information to satisfy my curiosity about my vehicle shipment. He usually picks up the calls from his clients and when he doesn't he makes sure to call you back. All company should be as proficient and truthful as Jay Jay's Auto Transport. They were in contact with me daily throughout the complete transport of my vehicle. When he pick up the vehicle he called me to inform me that there was no damage to the vehicle and that the vehicle I had purchased on-line was in outstanding condition.
