American Auto Transport - Review

The move went very well. We were able to find sufficient parking area at both ends, so the loading and unloading went smoothly. It took less than a week to make the arrangements, and about a week to get the vehicle transported from coast to coast. I am very satisfied, and would use again if the need arrises.  (more)

My family and I moved from Ca to Ga. I was so paranoid about shipping our cars!! All the brokers and their crazy fees and no price guarantees !! All of the companies that seemed to have good reviews, cost a fortune!! I want to let you know when these brokers say “The transport companies won’t book you directly”, THEY ARE LYING!! I started getting texts directly from the transport companies and reached out. I spoke with Andy at American Auto Transport who was super informative, polite and prompt. He told me to call for an exact quote closer to the ship date so he could guarantee a rate..SO... I read the reviews for them that are basically all negative, and I was scared! However, I honestly really felt like I could trust Andy so we gave it a shot… what a great choice!!! Our cars were picked up right on time from our house in Ca and delivered to our new home in Ga a week early! Also, just before we left my husbands car started having huge issues to where it was hardly drivable… I was worried we’d be charged extra since it was technically suppose to be operable but NOPE.. it wasn’t an issue, they went out of their way to keep his car safe and brought the truck practically to the door. Our cars arrived early, with no damage!! The price stayed at the EXACT rate I was quoted. People only seem to leave reviews when they have a bad experience so keep that in mind… thank you Andy, our driver and AAT, I recommend you 10000%!!  (more)

I was contacted by Transport Auto out of Flushing MI, they Hired this company American Auto Transport for the car to be shipped back, I was told the car was to be picked up on 8/30 it was not picked up until 8/31 alos we knew that there might be a problem with the car starting as it sat all summer, when we went there to unload certain items we had the car jumped by a local service, ran it for about an hour and half, thought it would start, left the company name that came out to start on the seat also emailed the company with all the information, they did not call the service and said they called another service to jump the car costing $ 125.00. The customer service rep called to say the car was in MI and ready for delivery, I called back and the driver said he would meet me at 12:00 midnight, I said I would be awake and ready for them. Around 12:40AM they called me and said they were not coming and would be in at or around 6:00 AM I told them 7:00AM and to call, they did not call, I called them and they told me they were looking for the property, If a trucking company can't find your location they should use GPS wow, I finally got in my truck and to my surprise I saw them on a close by street and followed them, called them 2 times and they finally answered, told them to turn around and follow me back, they did finally, but they wanted to unload in the middle of the street, how unsafe was that. I had them follow me into a parking lot and got the car off the truck. They orginally quoted me 850.00 when they called the night before they asked for 875.00 I said I would pay 850.00 what was quoted and the lady said she would ask her boss, she called back and they agreed to 850.00. Now I would like a copy of the towing bill to submit to insurance company and they told not unless I pay the 25.00 difference that they were shorted on, I told them that the lady said they agreed to 850.00 the night before, Lou was upset and hung up on me. If this is a business that you want to use go ahead but beware that they are frauds. not on time and asking for more money, what can you do when they have your car DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY  (more)

I am a hard working business owner and value customer service, performance, morals and ethics. Clearly American Auto Transport does not. As I read some of the previous reviews on this site, I wonder why I didn't look this information up sooner. It surely would have saved me a lot of time, effort, money and frustration. I recently tried to find a carrier service to ship my vehicle across the country after my regular broker had trouble finding an available truck with the recent inclimate weather. I called AAT to inquire whether or not they were just another broker or if they were a carrier company with their own trucks and drivers. I am not in the shipping industry and do not know the details of the business so I figured I'd call and ask. Mark Sanders took my call and I explained to him that my regular broker already had me listed on the shipping boards but that I was looking for a carrier company that owned their own shipping trucks. I wanted to try going straight to the source rather than deal with the middleman as my existing broker told me that I could cancel with him at anytime if I found another way to get the vehicle shipped. Mark assured me that AAT owned their own vehicles, employed their own drivers, would not post me on the shipping boards and confirmed that he had both a truck and driver that could ship my vehicle the following week. I could go on and on about the nightmare that ensued and if you'd like to hear more you can probably find my claim with the Better Business Bureau online. They did not have a vehicle for me, never returned any messages, on the few ocasions when I could get through to someone... they were very rude and gave more empty promises, and most importantly... were very unethical in their sales pitch as I later learned that they are indeed a broker and not a carrier. I now understand the timing delays and reasons why it took my vehicle so long to ship but wish this company would have been straight forward and treated the situation much differently. I cancelled my order with them and used my original broker to complete this shipping. Beware of American Auto Transport and I would recommend finding a competitor that is accredited with BBB or one that rarely, if ever, has negative reviews.  (more)
