Do not use Ed Lopez or SW Florida Transporter, you will be ripped and scamed and much more. Ed provide low quotes for delivery, but later make his own charges and the final bill will be 1K more, read reviews on other webs. Dont do any business with this person or if prepare the contract signed and sealed! (more)

: NIGHTMARE
In one word "AVOID" this company. We used they service thru the broker otherwise after reading reviews on the internet I never used them. First, the broker lied the way boat will be transportted, he told it will be on the flatbead or semitruck...couple days later we found out that boat was pulled and trailer bearrings failed on the way to IL from FL. Broker give Ed's phone to deal with, I called many times to Ed and directly to SW transporters but they did not pick up the phone, they did not called us asking what we want to do with the broken boat they just put to marina, i asked marina's phone and they did not give it to me. interesting why????finally after 20 days they delivered the boat and we said we will pay only for delivery until they show us the bill for marina. Ed said that invoice is in his offfice...so how he picked up the boat in TN but invoice is in his office in FL and how he assumes we will pay whatever he says to us...???something to think..so finally he try to run with the boat and also drove over our friends car the one crossed his path on running, also try to scare my husband and others with the knife...AVOID AVOID AVOID...I will write my review everywhere i can to tell everybody to avoid SW FLORIDA TRANSPORTER and ED LOPEZ!!!!!We called the police..so ED will have lots of problem... : The Absolute Worst Experience Ever
Ed damaged my boat during transit. The whole skeg and propeller had been dragged on the ground and completely torn off. His driver stole a propeller from another boat on the trailer and put it on mine, thinking I would never notice. They were completely different makes, models, and material. He lied to my face saying he didn't touch it. The lower unit of my motor appeared to be ground down by some mechanic, leaving a huge crack down the center of the unit. Ed thought a sufficient solution would be to send me some random used part off the internet and that would resolve the issue. I had repeatedly told him I want the motor to be inspected by a certified Yamaha mechanic, he didn't repsond to me for days. So I finally decided to file with his insurance company to avoid dealing with him. He was very upset after he found out I filed and told me in writing that I should expect to have the claim be denied because his driver wan't even insured under his company policy. To my benefit the underwriter accepted the claim and wrote me a check of 75% of the costs of repair, Ed however was now legally liable to send me a check for the remaining 25%. When I called to speak to him, he literally said F-you and hung up the phone. To this day he has not paid me and I can't believe he is still operating his business. Do yourself a favor and do not book this crook. He is liar and thief. Check out his BBB and DOT ratings...no good. He does not comply with the DOT standards, or any standards for that matter!!! STAY AWAY FROM HIM (more)
