Roaring Fork Transportation Authority

Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) is a public transportation authority that serves the Roaring Fork Valley in Colorado, United States. RFTA operates a bus rapid transit system, as well as local and regional bus services, that connect the communities of Aspen, Snowmass Village, Basalt, Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, and Rifle.

RFTA's bus rapid transit system, called the VelociRFTA, operates on a dedicated transitway and provides fast and reliable service between Aspen and Glenwood Springs. The local and regional bus services provide connections between the communities in the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond, with connections to other transit systems such as Amtrak and Greyhound.

RFTA also operates the Rio Grande Trail, a 42-mile multi-use trail that runs from Aspen to Glenwood Springs, offering a scenic and safe route for walking, cycling, and other non-motorized transportation. The trail follows the former route of the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad, providing access to numerous parks, open spaces, and scenic vistas along the way.
