DAS Global Services - Review

I , like many, found this site two weeks after DAS had my car and two weeks before I received it. Needless to say all the mixed reviews had me concerned. I shipped a 40 year old restored car enclosed from California to NY. My contact person always picked up the phone and was professional and helpful even when we hit a couple of bumps along the way. He was accurate in that the car sat for a weeks in Ca. but came straight accross to NJ in 3 1/2 days. I was able to track it on the site with ease. There were three things that I took issue with but, bottom line is my car arrived safe and sound. First issue was, after bumping back my original ETA a week I was told that my car would sit in NJ until every car that was closer to its listed ETA was delivered first. My issue with that was it was below zero wind chills in NJ that week and a 40 year old car from California arguably is less likely to be prepared for such condidtions than the average dealer maintained newer car that they ship. My problem though. Two, when the car arrived the drivers first question was did the seller tell me that the back shocks were not attached. In fact , they were hanging and mangled. The line that they donot check suspension at pick up was just plain stupid. Fact is, what must happened is that when one ships enclosed as I did, the wheels are strapped down as opposed to the body being chained on an open rig. The body must have shaken pretty good for 3000 plus miles and the lower nuts came off. Not DASs fault . The driver saw it at the yard in NJ but was told to load the car as is. At my home he asked for me to watch as he backed off as he was sure they would catch on the truck . When I requested he was nice enough to let me stand under the vehicle on his rig and remove the four bolts holding the top of the shocks thereby avoiding other damage to my vehicle.If he didnot give a sh_t he could have simply said it was against insurance or company rules. The car did arrive filthy. It did snow the day before so no doubt it would be explained away but they definately had no interest in my performing as detailed of an inspection of the vehicle as they did at pick up. I gave it a once over and signed off. When cleaned up the only thing I found were two scratches on the passenger window that werenot noted but I honestly couldnot say if they were or werenot there in California. I think bottom line is that they did what they said and anybody buying a vehicle that they have an emotional attachment to cannot reasonably expect the shipper to treat it as anything other than just another car. If you want white glove service than pay 2 or 3 times the price and you will probably get it. I still think I was better off with DAS than taking a crapshoot with a broker.  (more)

The worst company I have ever done business with. They will try to extort more money from you once they take possession of your vehicle as they did to me. Do not use!!!!  (more)

I would not recommend using DAS to my worst enemy. They delivered my car 70 miles away to West Palm Beach 3 days early while I was on vacation when they were suppose to drop it off in Miami when I would be there. Besides having to drive an extra 70 miles and pay for the gas myself, my car was filthy dirty inside and out. I had to get new carpets on the inside and have the entire interior and exterior cleaned twice at my expense. I believe that they left a window open during my move and water and dirt got into my car. The seats were covered in mud and dirt. I can't even tell you what the outside looked like, I couldn't even tell if there was major damage to it or not. DO NOT USE DAS EVER  (more)
