Review Description
Because the industry is dominated by brokers who use a common load board to solicit carriers there is a high degree of visibility of the movement. I initially contracted with another broker who failed to perform. Keith at HaulAway was quite disparaging of the other broker and their customers, referring to the customers as being "ignorant". As I was one of those customers I did not appreciate the comment but proceeded with the booking because I had already lost a week with the other broker. Once the load was booked with the carrier, communications with HaulAway came to a halt. The broker did not initiate communication with me once during the move despite promising daily updates during the sales process. I needed to call the carrier directly for any information. When the truck was delayed by 5 days I called the broker who was unaware and non responsive. They asked that I keep them updated of any changes - a reversal of roles at a minimum. Other than the poor communication and delay of more than a week the move went well. The driver was polite and communicative on the day of delivery and the car arrived with no damages. I would consider using this broker again but would include penalties for failure to communicate in the contract.
