Suncoast Auto Transport Inc. - Review

A friend recommended Suncoast Auto Transport after using their services for a cross country move, which was what I needed them for at the time. I reached out to them for a quote and not only I got the best price, but great customer services. I have never moved cross country and Jon was really helpful and patient explaining me the whole process, how long would it take, such and such. I gave him a window frame of when my car could be shipped and sure enough my needs were met. Becky was also involved in the process and contacted me a few times to let me know the status of my request as well when they got me a driver. My driver was VERY kind and the whole process was smooth and safe. If I ever do another cross country move I will definitely use Suncoast Auto Transport again!  (more)

I have never shipped a car before and did not know what to expect but after speaking to Neal at Suncoast Auto Transport I felt very confident that everything was going to be okay. Once I signed my contract I was contacted almost immediately by Simon in the dispatch department. He verified that he had a carrier assigned for my car and relayed all of the information I needed to get in touch with them. The carrier was professional, polite and stayed on time with the pick up and delivery of the car. The overall experience was an A and I would not hesitate to use Suncoast Auto again should the need arise. Thanks to all at Suncoast Auto Transport!!  (more)

I had to endure rude voice mails and text messaging from Simeon... obviously customer service was not included in his training. My vehicle was NOT picked up on the scheduled pick up day. I had taken the day off and Suncoast did not even provide me the courtesy of calling to tell me the vehicle was not going to be picked up. My receipt states I would pay a $250 deposit, but they charged me $300. Upon attempting to dispute this with the Better Business Bureau, they still would not own up to that and refused to credit back the $50. They have a money back guarantee that states if your vehicle is not picked up as scheduled, the deposit will be refunded... yeah, they don't honor that guarantee, either. This company is deceitful and dishonest. DO NOT do business with them.  (more)

I wrote to James Johansen and Simeon Gulley via email requested that Suncoast Auto Transport refund me the funds which were deducted from my credit card WITHOUT my approval. On April 26, 2012 I began discussion with James Johansen via internet/email regarding the possible transport of my car out of state and it was CLEARLY STATED BY JAMES IN AN EMAIL TO ME (that I'm happy to fwd or show anyone) THAT THERE WAS NO DEPOSIT AND NO MONEY WOULD BE DEDUCTED FROM MY ACCOUNT without my formal (further) approval upon finding a carrier but that I should just e-sign the paperwork prior in order to start the search for a carrier. Although, again, he communicated ***no money would be deducted until a carrier was found and we formally agreed after the carrier was found***. I would be happy to demonstrate this with copies of our email, phone and voicemail communications. I did not receive any further communication until May 4, 2012. On May 4, 2012 I left work (where I did not have cell phone access all day) to receive several VERY rude, and even threatening emails from James and Simeon regarding a truck waiting for me that day. I called both James and Simeon back immediately upon receiving their voicemails that evening. As neither answered their phones, I left both voicemails stating I was very upset with the service (for both assuming I was transporting my vehicle when I had received no further notice as James had communicated I would, and for the condescending, rude, insulting voicemails) and that I wanted any transport they had assumed cancelled immediately and any funds they had charged returned to my account immediately. I STILL have not received the credited funds that they deducted from my account without my approval back to my account. THEY ROBBED ME OF $195 IN A VERY DIRTY DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICE. WATCH OUT, THEY WILL ROB YOU!! I have moved several times and assisted friends as well. There are several great auto transport companies out there that practice honest business with concern for their customers. Do not waste your time or chance it with Suncoast.  (more)

I contracted with Suncoast Auto Carriers out of Florida. They in turn sub-contracted with Finish Line Auto Transport in Apple Valley, California. I will make this brief. I believe both companies are a rip off. Finish Line is a bogus company. Their address is non-existent which I confirmed with the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department. The phone numbers for the company are "ghost" numbers. When I researched one of the numbers it came back to Southwest Airlines in Nevada. After having my car for a over a month they never delivered it. I had to fly to California to pick it up. When I picked it up it was damaged and it had 3000 miles more on the odometer than when I purchased it. They never refunded my money. I made complaints with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the U.S. Department of Transportation. They have not helped me at all in recovering the money I paid to transport my vehicle or for the damage. Suncoast Auto Transport was extremely uncooperative in helping me. They sub-contracted the transportation of my vehicle to Finish Line Auto Transport. They failed to check Finish Line to see if they were a responsible company. I relied and trusted Suncoast with the transportation of my vehicle, even paying up front in full for the transportation. The dispatcher at Suncoast was rude and had no knowledge of where my vehicle was and gave me misinformation about it. I rarely got a return phone call from Suncoast and had to constantly call them. Suncoast reimbursed me the $150.00 booking fee I paid to them only after I complained. I'm sure they refunded my money to shut me up. They have basically washed their hands of this incident. I don't care what their contract states. They were ultimately responsible for my vehicle. I can get no help from any agency I have contacted. Basically I am told there is nothing I can do. This company is run by scam artists and thieves. DO not use Suncoast Auto Transport. For all I know both companies are working together.  (more)

I would highly recommend sun coast auto transports. They took great care of my car and they got my car to its destination in a timely manner. I enjoyed talking to the driver once he delivered my car. If I ever need another vehicle transported I will use sun coast auto transport service to meet my needs.  (more)

A very overall good quality experience from start to finish, This company has very good customer service and provided everything that i asked. My advice to anyone is to try to be a little flexible on your times; It will make the process even easier. The transport company set a date and time and driver did call in that time frame for pick up . A genuine pro with a nice clean truck. He discussed his time frame with me after loading and even called from his truck a few days later to let me know every thing was ok and to corroborate his delivery time which i thought was huge.  (more)
