: NEVER refer anyone to this company
DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY. THEY LURE BY LOW RATE!
They will break your stuff. The moving guys, they dont speak or read English.
They moved my Pediatric office stuff, and they broke my Babyscale costing $2000.
The owner was very non-chalant about breaking my scale, he said he will refund $50.
This moving company was more costly to me due to the damage to my item.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS MOVING COMPANY! (more)

: Great Service!!
I was a little hesitant about this moving company based on the reviews I read on Yelp, especially the fact that others said the movers did not come on time and that they damaged furniture. I did not have any problems at all, I was very pleased with the moving services. The movers arrived exactly on time to my apartment (they came at 3pm on the dot). After arriving, they wrapped all the bulky furniture and quickly moved everything into the truck. The unloading process was just as smooth.
I looked into other moving companies after reading the not so great reviews on yelp. Other companies charged almost double the prices as Star City. Thus, I am very pleased with the rate they charged me and the service I was provided. I would definitely use them again! I was a little concerned when 10 minutes before 3pm I had not heard from them. I called the foreman to get an update and he told me the movers were on their way - so i had nothing to be concerned about at all! (more)

: DO NOT USE STARCITY MOVING SERVICES !!!
The list of damages and complaints: New paved drive way has holes/divets due to the lift gate on truck and is stained from leaking engine fluids. Multiple ceramic tiles are chipped. Scuff marks/dents/holes on exterior of house in entree way siding/front door. Several damaged items to include my bedroom set, my living room couch, my dinning room table and chairs, entertainment center, door ways, walls, and brand new refinished floors. My wife and I had to assemble our sectional couch as movers refused to. Movers were 1 1/2 hrs late. I was promised 3 workers and one driver 2 people " non-english speaking and covered in jail house/gang tattoos " showed in a Ryder box truck no company logos. I was told I was being charged for each roll of tape used and covering furniture is extra not outlined in contract. They did not have any tools I had to supply them. My wife had to make 2 trips to - fro house/apt to get tools. They did not move a lamp, TV and mirror all which were on check list I had to move in my personal vehicle. I purchased them lunch and provided drinks all day also tipped them recommended percentage. Several emails were sent. Driver called after email sent complaining I sent them and promising someone would come and fix said items. Communication is null at its best. BBB claim was filed. Dean Laster informs me insurance covers .60 per pound and 50.00 is all he could refund after days of no responce. Legal services obtained and will proceed until satisfied. DO NOT USE STARCITY FOR ANY SERVICES EXTREAMLY AN UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY !!!

: Ruined Leather Sofa/Won't Pay Judgment
StarCity guaranteed that they could disassemble and reassemble oversized leather furniture. On moving day, only the supervisor spoke English. I wasn't concerned at first because everything seemed to be going fine. When it was time to move the sofa, I made sure that explained AGAIN to the supervisor that the sofa had to be disassembled in order to move it because it would not fit in the door. He said he understood and I left him and his two crew members in what I thought was a discussion on how to take care of the task.
By this time, more than half my furniture was on an open truck downstairs. At this point, I decided to go down and watch the truck while I waited for them to bring down my sofa. It was taking so long that I went back to the apartment only to find that my sofa was wedged in the doorway and that no one attempted to disassemble it and they finally had to admit that they DID NOT know how.
I later realized that they ruined my leather sofa because they left so quickly after everything was delivered. I contacted StarCity and sent them photos of the damages. They would not return my calls to discuss repairs. I ended up suing them and won. Now they won't pay the judgment. (more)

: Couldn't be happier
As we all know, moving is NOT fun. It's even worse when you have lived in the same place for several years. I called around to quite a few different companies, and to be honest, Starcity got back to me first and they were very helpful and responsive so I decided to go with them. First of all, the guys arrived within the time frame I was given(7-8am)and looked like they were actually happy to be there. They took very good care of my belongings. When they got to the new place, we could all see that getting the king sized bed upstairs would be very difficult. They didn't even hesitate to get the job done and they got it up the stairs without any damages. I certainly hope I don't have to move again anytime soon, but for anyone who does I definitely recommend Starcity. (more)

: Dependable NJ Movers
Starcity moved us from South Orange to Millburn in November 2011. They were very professional throughout the move. I made the reservations with Dean and he called back a day before the move to confirm the time and place.
On the day of the move, three movers showed up and diligently wrapped and packed up all my belongings. They worked constantly for four hours packing carefully. They were fast, careful and very courteous.
Dean called twice during the move to ask if everything was going well, this was very nice and made us feel he really cares about our move.
We drove back to Millburn and they drove well and were very efficient with driving and unloading. We were every pleased with their speed as well as their friendliness.
I will use them anytime in future and recommend them to anyone. (more)

Most friendly moving service of all time!
I was in crisis mode, and the man on the phone was the most kind and considerate person.
I haven't actually had them move anything just yet, but speaking strictly on behalf of their customer service, absolute perfection. (more)

: Can't expect more from movers
Absolutely pure muscle and motivation with these movers. I've used them three times, twice as a renter and then when I bought my house in the Hackensack. I was impressed every time. They carry several boxes on their backs! Not only are they work horses, but they have always been incredibly friendly and prompt. I will use and recommend them again and again. Highly recommend starcity to anyone looking to move in New Jersey and beyond. (more)
