: apparently they had problems
Well, my car never got picked up.
Granted, I had a tight window. I called 3 weeks before to get a quote, and booked about 8 days before I needed it shipped. I made the broker aware that I needed it picked up no later than Monday morning as I flew out on a plane that day and had no one else to release the vehicle. I was happy to have the vehicle picked up before then, but there was no possible way to have it done after.
The broker was all sweet and full of answers to my questions when I was deciding on which company to go with, he made me feel at ease so I went with him. After that, he was completely cold and barely had time to speak with me on the phone. He was short and did not give me any day for a pick up. Saturday rolled around, no word. Finally Sunday, no word of any pick up or if a driver was confirmed. I fly out Monday morning, I have no options, he knows this.
I called, left voicemails, and emails to him and the main company on Sunday. NEVER HEARD ANYTHING BACK. Finally Monday afternoon I get a call from a lady in charge, apparently they had problems with their voicemail system and retrieving messages. She was extremely apologetic and asked if I still needed help. Well, no, my car is stuck in California. Great. Her phone call though is what gave them 2 stars instead of 1 star.
I know I had a tight window, and thats not good. So if this sounds like you, too, find something more reliable or change your time frame as who knows if my car would have ever gotten picked up. I heard from another broker with another company that my quote for my car was too low and thats why no driver accepted their offer. Too much competition and thats why they are so cheap, yet, no driver wants their low fee for their work when they can get higher. (more)
