Review Description
New Way Moving Services promises a "stress free" moving experience, but were a major headache for me. I used their car shipping service. Paid for express shipping, which means they would pick up my car within 1-5 days of the projected pick-up date. It seemed so simple and they were constantly available at first. I flew out to my new place and rented a car, confident that my car would be there within the next week or so. However, as soon as they took my deposit, they were suspiciously unavailable for days at a time. Finally, after the period came and went and they still hadn't picked up my car from the old place, I called to let them know that I'd changed my mind. I was going to forfeit my deposit, fly back, and drive the car across the country myself (MA to CA). Seriously, it would have saved me a lot of time AND money (it's that costly). Dispatch called back that same day and miraculously there was a truck available to pick up my car the next day. They were only a couple of states away and would pick it up first thing in the morning....This went on 2 more days. Lie after lie after lie: "Oh! A truck tire blew out," "The driver was in the state, but must have forgotten about you, but don't worry he'll be back tomorrow!" Finally, the car was picked up on the 8th day. Fast forward to a week later. My car still hasn't arrived. I called New Way dispatch to get an update AND to have the express fee refunded. They didn't return my calls. Finally, I called sales and they transferred me to someone who could flat out refuse my refund - without discussion. The pick-up date he noted on his paperwork were FABRICATED to fall within the express period (Perhaps this is for legal purposes). He was super rude about it too, talking over me when I tried to give him the correct date. He kept saying "Maam, in any case, there won't be any kind of refund. You WILL give the driver the remaining money when he delivers your car!" So belligerent that I had to hang up before I started cursing at him. Like THAT would have helped... :P Dispatch called me back the same day and told me the same thing. She said "Your car was picked up right!? Then we did you the service we were supposed to." Then, in a sing-songy ghetto voice, reminiscent of a child on the playground, she said "You're NOT gonna get a refuuuuund!!!" I admit it... at that point, I cursed. Stupid people bring out the stupid in me. These people are shady. I will never use this or any other car shipping service again. All the positive reviews fooled me the first time, but I have a feeling that those are fabricated too.
