Review Description
I wanted to move my car from Chicago to PA. So, I contacted Capt Mark through a referral. He sounded very knowledgable. I was impressed; even referred a friend of mine to him the next day. Anyway, he told me his procedures and explained that only a small percentage of his moves don't go as planned. He explained to me what would happen if a problem with the move cropped up. Basically, he said I would take my car to a dealership and that the vehicle will be picked up there. He set me up with a mover to pick up my car on 6/27/11 but unfortunately, the mover had an accident so Mark had to scramble to get me somebody else. I was flying out on 6/29 so I needed firm plans for my car by COB on 6/28. On 6/28, it looked like we would not find a mover so Mark told me to take my car to a dealership. He then added that I should get an oil change or a tire rotation. I was kind of surprised and I told him that I did not want to get any work done on my car. I just wanted the vehicle moved. This was when Mark started yelling at me. He started saying that I am inconsiderate and that he is sure I don't tip because of my cultural background (my parents are african but i was born here and i have lived here for 15 years...i still have a slight accent though). He said that he would add $100 to my bill because our 5 minute conversation was costing him money. I was so surprised. This guy certainly had no right to disparage my race or my culture. I insisted on not fixing my car. He then said that he was sure that my car needed something done. In the end, he told me to tip the guy at the dealership $20. I actually agreed to do that. 30 mins later, Mark called back, scrapped the plans for the dealership and told me that another mover was available to take my car on 6/28. The mover indeed came, took my car and transported it on time. You would think the story would end here right? Apparently not. On 6/30, I wrote about my experience on another site. The next morning, I received an email from this site's administrator. Apparently, Capt Mark told Admin that he did not know me and that I was never his customer. So, Admin asked me to send evidence of a transaction (i just did that not long ago). Meanwhile Capt Mark emailed me this morning (after reading my review) and just went crazy on me. I promise you, I am not exaggerating. Mark said that he knew people and that he would make my life hell. He told me that I should be appreciative of what he did for me. He told me that he aced his LSATs (don't know why that info is even relevant). He promised to talk about me on facebook, twitter and other social media sites. He said he would 'put his guys on it' (not sure what that means. He said that his mother, Sara Morin runs the LAW Law journal and the NY Law journal (again, not sure why that should scare me). Apparently, he also wants me to apologize to him for 'offending him by not appreciating [his] great efforts' (his words, not mine). I think I have a right to discuss my experience with this guy. That is why I am doing this. I also want to warn others thinking of dealin with Mark about who they are dealing with. Thank you for your time.
