Review Description

Classic Car Transport does not stand by their service. They allowed a driver to add on extra services to my transport, prior to my approval. They would not hear me out on my complaints, and said it was a "non issue." Do not patronize them if you are looking for honest, good service. The driver was rude, abbrasive and threatened to hold my car until I paid him an extra $100. Avoid at all costs!!!! This complaint is in regards to Classic Car Transport, LLC 913.749.0927, classiccartransport.com I had a 1986 Chevrolet Corvette Transported which arrived at my house on September 18th. The agreed price for the transport was $800, to transport the car from CA to IL. The driver for this company picked up the car as agreed from my father. The driver then charged an additional $100 for transport of additional wheels for the car. The additional amount was not approved by me. The driver changed the terms of the contract and increased his fee for transport without consulting me first. THe only told me of the extra charge when he as less than 20 minutes away from my house. I told him that I wouldn't pay the $100 dollars because he did not have it approved by me first. This was the first I heard of the extra charge although I spoke to him twice about his estimated time of delivery. He threatened to hold the car, and even threatened to sell the wheels until he was paid the extra $100 dollars. I ended up paying the $100 so he would not hold the car. During delivery, the driver was rude and abrasive. Although the car was fully functional when it was delivered, it was not operating when it arrived and the passenger seat was wet with moisture. I called the transport company to resolve the issue and voice my complaints, but per Joe Wilknson at the company, "this is a non-issue." My complaint revolves around two topics: an increased charge without my prior approval and the rudeness and behavior and quality of service from the driver and the transport company as a whole.

Rebuttal for this comment
Title    :     Unfair Review in my opinion
Rebuttal    :     Corvette owner notes the following. His father added 4 heavy wheels to the already contracted shipment. This added weight and space to his load. Four corvette wheels don't fit in the glovebox. UPS dosn't ship extra for free either. Customers attitude with driver is probably what escalated the issue. Read between the lines in his review. Re moisture in passenger seat. A 25yr old corvette probably had window seal issues or a leaky top. Knowing this could have been an issue he should have ordered a covered delivery truck. I am looking at the other reviews of this company and have seen nothing but favorable reviews. Lesson Learned Don't try or expect to get something for free in this world. You got your extra wheels across country at a reasonable cost of 25 dollars each. UPS would have charged you double that. Just my opinion as an outside observer
