Review Description
I began Calling Best Auto Shipper (BAS) starting in June/2011. I spoke with Delilah Deville no less than 4 times about shipping my car from Long Beach, CA to Honolulu, HI. The main reason we spoke so often was because I wanted to know if I could ship 100 pounds of stuff in the trunk of my car. She assured me no less than 3 times that I could ship 100 pounds of stuff in the trunk of the car. The contract I received also shows that I can have 100 pounds of stuff in the trunk and only excluded international shipping, but not Hawaii. The contract I signed also states that if I am not satisfied before "dispatch" they would issue a full refund. I asked Delilah what "dispatch" meant and she stated it was when we dropped the car off or BAS picked it up. I signed the contract around June 22, 2011 with that understanding of the terms. I heard nothing from BAS, so I called them back on July 13th, 2011. I spoke with Paul Moore whom said he would get the confirmation information and get it to us. We received an email from Paul the same day through Matson shipping. I had already spoke to Matson and knew they allowed nothing in the trunk of their shipped automobiles. I called them to confirm this would be the case even when booked through BAS. At this point I was already quite frustrated and so I setup a booking through Matson directly with the intention of just canceling my booking through BAS as they still had not yet charged my card. I called back Paul the next day and advised him that I wished to cancel my booking, he said: "no problem." BAS billed my card the next day, July 15th, 2011. I called Paul back immediately and said, "hey, you did not meet the terms of the contract I signed with the 100 pounds of weight allowable in the trunk and also I canceled before 'dispatch' so there should not be a charge anyway." Paul agreed that Delilah had not provided correct information regarding the shipping contract, and stated she had actually been terminated for providing false information to clients, and that he would immediately process a refund which would post in 3-5 buisness days. As of June 25th the refund still had not posted so I called back and spoke with Joseph. Joseph is a manager and he explained that even though it is not stated in the contract that Hawaii is in fact an international destination, and he also tried to say that "dispatch" is when they provide the booking number. He had no intention of providing any refund. I explained the entire situation and said all I wanted was a refund, they had violated the terms of the contract twice in billing me. He disagreed saying they provided "a service" and they would be paid for it. If lying to me repeatedly and wasting a good 10 hours of my life in order to complete a booking which took me 10 minutes through Matson and cost me nothing is a "service" I guess I am mistaken, however I do not feel that BAS has acted honorably at any point throughout our dealings, and I did not realize that in order to expect them to honor any of the commitments they have made to me, I would have needed to bug my phone and record our conversations. Best Auto Shipper has been very dishonest throughout this entire affair and my life would be far better had I never spoken with them.
