Review Description
This was my first time shipping a vehicle, so I called a few transport companies to request quotes for shipping my vehicle from North Carolina to Chicago, Illinois. I was transporting a BMW that meant a lot to me and I'm very particular about who handles my cars. I looked into an enclosed carrier but I couldn't justify paying the additional cost for a 2 day drive. I spoke to 4 other brokers about transporting the vehicle. They all padded the price and constantly pressured me to pay a deposit in exchange for a "special" reduced rate. I'm glad I didn't accept their proposals and spoke to Graham at AmeriFreight. He was extremely helpful with providing a quote and he was the only broker that did not pressure me to send a deposit or provide credit card information. I told him that I needed to think about it and that I would call him back. I called Graham back after a few days and asked him to begin the paperwork. I had some special requirements for the vehicle pickup and drop, so no carrier picked up my order for a week. I spoke to Graham about this delay and he immediately refunded $50 of my deposit. Usually, you have to call 3-4 times to have a company follow through on a refund but, in this case, my card was credited immediately without any hassle. The car was delivered 2 days after pickup (early) without a scratch or extra mile on it. After the car was delivered, Graham called a couple of times to follow up on the order. There are quite a few small brokers and carriers that make promises that they cannot keep in order to get your deposit. Some refuse to work with you to arrange for factors that are unique to your order. Because of these issues, I'm glad that I chose a large company like AmeriFreight to handle my order. Thanks to Graham, my transport experience was great- highly recommended!
