I want to talk about this rip-off, scum, piece of sh_t car transportation company called A Plus Auto Shippers. They are rude, mean, creepy, shady, crooked, deceitful, and unethical punks. I had to transport my minivan from Hawaii to Indiana. I used Matson Shipping company to get my van from Hawaii to Long Beach, California. Matson is a great company, no hassles with them, and they got my car to Long Beach on time. But the journey of my van from California to Indiana all depended on the crappy auto transport company called “A Plus Auto Shippers”. I initiated business with Stoney over the phone on May 23, 2007. I told him that I was shipping my van to Long Beach port from Honolulu, and that I would like them to pick up my van at the Long Beach. He said no problem, and that it would take 7-10 business days from the day of pick up to get my car from California to Indiana. Little would I know that he was LYING to me! The funny thing is Stoney never bothered to fax me a copy of my receipt or send me any paper work in the mail. I never signed anything and never knew about the “Bill of Lading” until I had to contact an attorney, which I will talk about later on. My credit card payment went through on May 29, 2007, although my van never arrived in L.A. yet. My van arrived at Long Beach on June 1, 2007. So I called A Plus Auto Shippers and Karen picked up the phone. I told her that my van has arrived at the Long Beach port. She said that a truck will be sent over to pick up my minivan. I called them again during the week of June4-9, 2007. A mean gruff guy named Dan picked up the phone and asked what I wanted. I told him that my van has arrived at the Long Beach port and that A Plus Auto Shippers should pick it up, otherwise they will charge me extra money for holing my car. This f$%%^in liar lied to me that it will be picked up the next day. I called A Plus Auto again on June 6, 2007 to see if it was picked up. Stoney picked up the phone and said that no truck has been sent out to Long Beach. He rambled on about how the truck will be sent when a certain number of cars/vans are available to be transported over to their terminal in Phoenix, Arizona. Wow! This deceitful monster never even told me that there is a terminal in Phoenix where my car needs to be transported to. They ended up picking up my car on June 12, 2007 – a week later than what they promised. I thank God that Matson company was nice enough to hold my car for a week without charging me extra for storage fee. I guess my van arrived in Phoenix two days later on June 14th. I called again, and the mean monster Dan picked up the phone. He said gruffly that the truck carrying cars headed to the Midwest region was going to leave Phoenix in a couple of days. I called A Plus Auto again on Friday June 15, 2007 to make sure that my van has left the Phoenix terminal on a truck. So Karen picked up the phone and told me that everything has been taken care of, and that the truck has left Phoenix and should arrive in Indiana in 5 days. More lies. I departed Hawaii on June 16, 2007 and arrived in Indianapolis on Sunday the next day. I called A Plus Auto again on Monday morning, but they were not open yet, as Indiana is East Coast time zone. So I left them a message telling them to call me back and let me know the status of the car. No calls were made back to me. So my mom got infuriated with the peeps at A Plus Auto and told me to call again. So I called them, and smelly Stoney picked up the phone. He said that the truck containing my minivan is “well on its way over to the Midwest.” He told me to expect the truck to arrive in Indiana on either Wed June 20 or Thurs 21, 2007. So I trusted him, and waited till Wednesday. Since my van didn’t arrive on either Monday or Tuesday (6/18 or 6/19), my mother and I decided to rent a car. We were really inconvenienced that day, as we had to go shopping, and we had to take the taxi to get around town. Let me tell you Indianapolis is such a spread out “city” that you need a car to go shopping and to run errands. Wednesday came and went, and no phone calls from the truck driver and of course, none from A Plus Auto Shippers. Oh, and by the way, Stoney was supposed to give me the truck driver’s name and phone number when he initiated business with me, or at least should have told me the truck driver’s information when it departed the Phoenix terminal. He never. What an unethical scumbag. Anyhow, my mother got infuriated with A Plus Auto, and decided to call the local police department here in Indy. It took almost two hours for Indianapolis Metropolitan Police to respond to my call. I guess this was not an “important” call for the officers. Anyhow, the officers arrived at my apartment, and I explained to them what the situation was between us and A Plus Auto Shippers. So one of the officers used my cell phone to call A Plus Auto Shippers. Dan the mean monster picked up the phone, and boy was it hilarious, he told the police officer “What do you want?” in a rude manner. The officer explained to Dan who he was, and Dan toned down his voice like a scared cat. I could hear his voice being lowered while speaking to the officer on my cell phone! LOL! Guess what guys? Dan told the police officer that the truck carrying my van had a brake problem and that it was currently being fixed. Dan said that it would take 2-3 days for the truck to get back on the road. Wow! How come they couldn’t tell me the truth when I called them earlier!?? I also told the police officer to get the phone number and name of the truck driver. He took down the number and name. The truck driver name is Ken and his contact number is (760) 641-8060. Anyhow, the truck carrying my van left its location, wherever it ruined its brake, on Sunday June 24, 2007. Since the officer got the information of Ken, the truck driver, I called that number Saturday night and left a message. that guy never called me back. My mom used her cell phone and called Ken’s cell phone and left him a message. He finally calls us on Monday June 25, 2007 in the late morning hours. Wow, what a miracle. Pffft, that’s what I thought. He spoke to me, and told me that he was currently driving in central Missouri heading towards St. Louis, having to deliver four more vehicles along the way. So he told me that he would arrive in Indiana either on Tuesday night or Wednesday. I trusted him, and was very happy that my van would arrive here before my mother had to go back to Hawaii on June 28th. Tuesday came and went. No phone calls from Ken. So I called his number Tuesday night, and like always, he never picked up the phone. So I left him a message to tell me what the status was of my van and his location. Wednesday morning, I got concerned, so I called A Plus Auto Shipppers and left them a message. I then realized that they don’t return calls left on their generic gay answering machine. So I called them back during their business hour. OMG, you guys won’t believe this. Stoney picked up the phone and told me that the truck again, broke down and that Ken and the truck is located in Effingham, Illinois. He said he didn’t know how long it would take to repair the truck, because the problem was not known. My mom got really angry and she even yelled at me for being unscrupulous in choosing A Plus auto Shippers to transport my van across the continental US. Plus it was a two-year old minivan, so it had some value to it. She then rambled on and argued with me how A Plus Auto probably took apart the van and how they probably sold parts of my vehicle to auto body shops. OMG, that was one of the worst days of my life. She then grumbled and ranted how the next time, I should choose a more expensive auto transport company because these losers at A Plus Auto Shippers are bunch of crooks. Like I’ve said, bad relationship with mommy that day. (take note of that Stoney!) I got sick of the run arounds with A Plus Auto Shippers. So my mother and I looked in the yellow page book to look for an attorney. I found an attorney who specialized in transportation law. I called him up and as a free over-the-phone consulation service, he said that A Plus Auto Shippers is supposed to give me a copy of the Bill of Lading, which I didn’t know about. He also advised me to ask for A Plus Auto Shipper’s DOT number and the truck driver’s company’s number. He then told me that the truck driver Ken is working for Stoney, and how stoney and his company is a broker. The attorney also suspected A Plus Auto Shippers of operating illegally, as they are supposed to be registered with the Indiana’s Attorney General’s office if they do business here (even if it means dropping off a vehicle in Indiana), but he couldn’t find them when researching their company. So I called A Plus Auto on Thurs morning right after speaking with the attorney. Not to mention my mother departed Indianapolis back to Hawaii that morning. So I was all ALONE in handling this situation that day while my mother was flying back home. Stoney the monk picked up the phone and tried to “sweet talk” his way of telling me how the oil plan of the truck needed to be changed blah yada blah. I then told him I really needed my car, and that each day after the “7-10 business day” promise, he was accruing charges of my rental car. I also asked him for Ken’s DOT number and A Plus Auto Shippers company’s number. Stoney then changed from his sweet BS talk voice to an angry agitated voice. He was initially stunned, then screamed, “go ahead and contact a lawyer, I did not break one damn thing in the contract….” I simply hung up on him because I did not want to waste my time arguing with that punk. man is Stoney a creepy guy! I could also tell that he was scared as heck that I was going to sue his old pruny a$$ in court! Later that day (6/28/07) at around 5PM, I went shopping at Walmart. My cell phone rang, and I answered the phone. It was Ken, the truck driver. He said that he was an hour outside of Indianapolis. However, he would not deliver my vehicle to me unless I had $860 in CASH handed to him at the time of delivery. I was confused as to why I had to pay cash when my $875 payment with my credit card was already taken. He advised me to call Stoney, and his voice was okay during that conversation. I called crooked Stoney, he picked up the phone and rambled and grumbled to me that he cancelled my credit card payment, and that he wanted cash on delivery, otherwise he will order Ken to impound my van in some unknown storage in Chicago. he said that he didn’t trust me, and that I could cancel my credit card payment after they delivered my vehicle. What BS excuse! He was just doing this to be a jerk to me and to give me hard time. What a f----er! I then called Ken and told him that I couldn’t get cash because the banks were closed. I told him my bank closed at 5PM. Ken, being an ignorant high school dropout (hence he drives trucks for a living, equivalent to flipping burgers), said that Indiana was central time, when it fact it’s in the East Coast time zone. I told him that I couldn’t get cash. He then gets angry with me and tell me to go to an ATM machine and get cash advanced. Boy was I terrified with Ken and Stoney. They are pure gangs mafia monsters! I actually went to several ATM machines just to withdraw $860 in cash from my credit card. The ATMs would either not accept my credit card, because my credit card company didn’t do business with that bank, or it would only allow me to take out $300 max per day. I then called ken back and asked him if he could drive my van over to my apartment. Guess what? He raises his voice and screams at me, and threatens me that “he is so angry with me that he will break my head open with his crow bar until I drop dead.” Terroristic threat right off the back. I was so terrified I drove back home. I called the police, and told the dispatcher that the truck driver holding my vehicle is threatening to kill me
